Case Study - A Wix rebuild that scores a perfect 100 on performance

Overview

The Cubo Group is a Merseyside-based commercial contractor—handling fit-out, maintenance and renovation work for clients across the UK. With 25 years in the trade and 400+ projects behind them, their work spoke for itself. Their website didn’t.

Their existing site was built on Wix. It did the job of being online, but it was slow, hard to extend, and the templated look undersold the quality of work the team actually delivers. As TCG took on bigger commercial contracts, they needed a digital presence that matched. Something fast, credible, and built to grow with them.

We took on a full redesign and rebuild, moving them off Wix and onto a modern framework with a bespoke design that reflects the craftsmanship at the heart of their business.

What we did

We designed and built a brand-new single-page site from scratch, replacing the Wix template with a layout crafted specifically for Cubo—bold typography, a clear services breakdown, a project showcase, and an enquiry form that lands straight in their inbox.

Under the hood, we built the site on Next.js with React Server Components, styling it with Tailwind CSS for a consistent, fully responsive layout. Rendering the pages on the server means the content arrives fast and search-ready, while the enquiry form is handled by a secure server action with proper validation—no third-party form widgets slowing the page down.

We also baked in the technical SEO foundations the old site lacked: structured LocalBusiness data for local search, a clean sitemap, and carefully tuned metadata throughout. The whole thing is deployed on Vercel with cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics.

The payoff shows up in the numbers. On Google PageSpeed Insights the new site scores a perfect 100 for performance, accessibility, best practices and SEO on desktop (and 96 for performance on mobile), with a largest contentful paint of 0.6 seconds and zero layout shift—a world away from where they started.
