Terms - Cookies Policy
How The Web People uses cookies and similar technologies — what we do and don't set, and why our main site doesn't need a cookie banner.
This policy was last updated on 16/05/2026.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixels — work in comparable ways. They can be used to make a site function correctly, remember preferences, or track behaviour across pages and sites.
Our approach
We have deliberately built our website to minimise the use of cookies and tracking technologies. As a result, our main site does not require a cookie consent banner under UK PECR / GDPR rules.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar, advertising cookies, or any cross-site tracking on our main site.
Cookies and similar technologies we use
Strictly necessary
We may set short-lived cookies or use local storage to make features of the site work — for example, anti-spam protection on our contact forms, or session management inside our content studio. These are exempt from consent under UK law because they are strictly necessary to deliver a service you have requested.
Analytics (cookieless)
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, provided by Vercel Inc., to understand how our site is used and to monitor page performance.
These tools:
- do not set cookies,
- do not use device fingerprinting,
- do not collect personally identifiable information,
- do not track you across other websites.
Vercel processes only aggregated, anonymised data such as page views, referrers, approximate country, and Core Web Vitals timings. You can read more about how Vercel Analytics works in Vercel's privacy documentation.
LinkedIn Insight Tag (paid advertising landing pages only)
On our paid advertising landing pages — URLs beginning with /lp/ — we run the LinkedIn Insight Tag. This is used to measure the performance of our LinkedIn ad campaigns and to track conversions when someone submits a consultation enquiry.
The LinkedIn Insight Tag does set cookies, including advertising cookies operated by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company. It is loaded only on /lp/* pages and is not present on the rest of our site. If you reach one of these pages from a LinkedIn ad and you do not want LinkedIn to record the visit, you can browse using your browser's private/incognito mode or block third-party cookies for *.licdn.com and *.linkedin.com in your browser settings.
For details of how LinkedIn uses this data, see LinkedIn's Cookie Policy.
