The Challenge
Liverpool Concrete was a brand-new venture: a ready-mix concrete supplier set up to serve builders, contractors and businesses across Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area. Like any new business, they were starting from zero—no domain authority, no reviews, no online footprint—in a competitive market where established suppliers had been ranking for years.
To win work, they needed more than a brochure site. Their customers are time-pressed trades who search on their phones from a job site, need to know exactly how much concrete to order, and want a quote fast. The website had to do three jobs at once:
- Compete in local search for high-intent terms like "liverpool concrete" and "ready mix concrete liverpool"
- Build instant credibility with professional buyers who expect a slick, trustworthy supplier
- Convert visitors into orders by removing every bit of friction between "I need concrete" and "send me a quote"
What We Built
We designed and developed a brand-new website from the ground up using a modern Next.js 15 and TypeScript stack—chosen for speed, reliability and the technical SEO foundations that fast, server-rendered sites give you out of the box.
Interactive Concrete Calculator
The centrepiece of the site is a custom concrete volume calculator. Builders enter the length, width and depth of their pour—in metres, centimetres, feet or inches—and the calculator instantly works out the volume of concrete required, then feeds that figure straight into a quote request. It removes guesswork for the customer and qualifies the enquiry for the business in a single step.
This tool has become the site's primary lead generator, and it's already driving a steady flow of customer orders.
Frictionless Quote Requests
Alongside the calculator, we built a clean, validated quote and contact form, a persistent sticky call button for mobile users, and clear service sections covering domestic, commercial, concrete pump hire and floor screed delivery—so every visitor finds a fast route to ordering.
Mobile-First, Built for the Job Site
Because the audience is overwhelmingly searching from their phones, we built mobile-first throughout: fast load times, tap-to-call, and a layout that works one-handed on a building site. (In practice, over 80% of the site's clicks now come from mobile devices—validating that decision.)
Local SEO Foundations
From day one we implemented local SEO best practice: LocalBusiness structured data (Schema.org), Liverpool and Merseyside geo-targeting, optimised metadata and keyword-focused content built around the terms real customers search for. This is what gave a brand-new domain the platform to climb so quickly.
The Results
For a business that didn't exist online a few months ago, the search performance has been outstanding—and it's still improving by the week.
- Google ranking for "liverpool concrete"
- #1
- Click-through rate on its primary search term
- 32%
- Merseyside search terms the site now appears for

- 80%+
Ranking #1 for the term that matters
The site now ranks #1 on Google for "liverpool concrete"—the single highest-intent, highest-value keyword in the market. That position is earning a 32% click-through rate, more than ten times the typical rate for a Google search result. When the right customers search for concrete in Liverpool, this is the first name they see.
A rising tide across the whole market
Beyond the headline keyword, the site's overall search visibility has climbed steadily since launch. Its average position across all queries improved from the high-50s at launch to around #13—a jump from page six to the edge of page one across the board—while the number of search terms it appears for has grown to over 130, spanning Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley, Formby, Childwall, Maghull, Kirkby, Prescot, Crosby and more.
It's now gaining visibility for competitive commercial terms like "concrete suppliers liverpool", "ready mix concrete liverpool" and "concrete delivery merseyside"—and that footprint keeps expanding week on week.
Orders from day one
Most importantly, the work is translating into business. The concrete calculator is generating a consistent stream of quote requests and orders, giving a brand-new company a real, growing pipeline of customers built almost entirely on organic search.
